Explaining the AASCB Portability Plan…
The NDBCE invites you to visit the AASCB website for information on Licensure Portability and the National Credentials Registry. The website explains the purpose and function of the Registry and Portability Plan, which was established as a holding site for documents related to licensure and portability. AASCB will document that the individuals registered have met specific requirements relative to education background, longevity of licensure, supervisory experience, performance on an approved examination, evidence of continuing education, and freedom from disciplinary actions. AASCB will forward the documented material upon request of the counselor, for instance when applying for reciprocity. This service provides convenience for the counselor, and verified information for the member board.

The AASCB website will explain the different Tiers of licensure and the requirements in each. North Dakota has agreed to accept the verified credentials package from the NCR as primary source verification for the information. There will be information on that site listing other states who will accept the NCR registrants, and any regulatory changes they may have. Please visit the AASCB website for further details.

Renewal Process…
Counselors with renewals due will receive a letter with downloading instructions as to the particular renewal form. Counselors will now download the forms, complete them, and submit them to this office along with the renewal fee. The website has the renewals forms for download, as well as renewal instructions. Please contact this office should you have any trouble downloading the forms, or would prefer to have the forms sent to you in the mail. Please UPDATE EMAIL addresses with your renewal applications.
